PAMAG and Cebu Institute of Medicine Class 75 Alumni Disaster Relief in Guihulngan, Negros Oriental

Dr. Zenas Pasigna of CIM Class 75 and PAMAG/Smile Train stalwarts, Dr. Paul and Marilyn Beltran spearheaded this disaster relief project in Guihulngan, Negros Oriental.

Dr. Pasigna and volunteers distributed relief goods of rice, dried fish, canned goods and pail (timba) or palanggana to those affected by Typhoon Odette. Some of the recipients came from far away barrios, crossing rivers barefooted to get much needed relief goods.

In another distribution center in Guihulngan, since it is also the celebration of the Feast of the Sto. Nino (Feast of the Child Jesus), some children received new rubber slippers and their parents got 5 lb sacks of rice. They were also given boxed lunches as part of the Sto. Nino celebration. The boxes lunches were sponsored by the family of Dr. Pasigna while the rubber slippers and rice packs were supported by PAMAG /Smile Train funds.
