About Us

The PHILIPPINE-AMERICAN MEDICAL ASSOCIATION OF GEORGIA (PAMAG) was founded in 1976 by Dr. Ludi Villanueva and a group of like-minded Filipino doctors in Atlanta, Georgia. Their mission was to advance healthcare through continuing medical education for doctors and allied professionals in both the USA and the Philippines, and to provide regular medical-surgical missions to underserved areas in the Philippines. PAMAG also offers need-based scholarships for deserving Filipino students, fosters community health through sports and physical activities, and supports initiatives like the “Books to the Barrios” project and the Santa Barbara Medical Mission.

In recent years, PAMAG has been actively involved in humanitarian efforts, including the 2024 Ormoc Medical Mission and the 2023 Asturias Medical Mission in collaboration with the Juanito King Foundation. The organization has played a critical role in disaster relief, providing assistance to those affected by Typhoon Odette, Typhoon Agaton, and Typhoon Yolanda. Their efforts have extended to rebuilding homes in Oroquieta and Cebu and reconstructing schools in Leyte and Cebu following major typhoon damage.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, PAMAG’s relief efforts included feeding programs, vaccination drives, and healthcare worker support, along with initiatives to assist remote learning for students in need.

PAMAG remains committed to its mission of healthcare, education, and community service, continuing to make a lasting impact both in the Philippines and within the Filipino-American community
