Zam G. Carabido is a third-year student undertaking a Bachelor of Public Administration degree in the University of the Philippines Diliman-National College of Public Administration and Governance (UP-NCPAG). Consistent with his advocacy to build a more loving world, Zam’s academic interests lie in climate justice, participatory development, gender and development, and public policy. Actively involved in many student organizations and community development initiatives, he is passionate about using research and public administration to better understand social problems and contribute to the ongoing struggle for genuine social change.
Being the former Director for Academics and Advocacy at UP Kalilayan, he has spearheaded various projects aimed at strengthening campaigns for youth civic engagement, academic support, and capacity-building and development. Additionally, Zam has also served as one of Tagisan 40’s overall heads where he co-led the conceptualization and implementation of a province-wide climate justice-themed inter-highschool competition. Currently, he is set to serve as one of the core leaders of UP Kalilayan’s next edition of their community outreach project, the Neil Eria Educational Discussion Series (NEEDS).
As a struggling scholar from the province himself, Zam hopes to make the most of the opportunity to pursue his education while continuing to serve and make a meaningful impact on the lives and communities he finds himself a part of—a mission that the care and support that donors of the UPKAA-PAMAG Rogelio Almazan Educational Assistance Program (REAP) make possible.
